Anastasia is a young lady in her 20s who lives in rural Russia. She has no chance to go to university and can only work on her father's farm. She is very studious and has taught herself English. In the Russian-speaking area, her English pronunciation is considered very authentic. Authentic.
In less than a year, she taught herself Spanish and spoke it fluently. She also founded a small business of her own, with more and more customers, and achieved some success. She is a very outstanding young person. On his YouTube channel, he laments his fate and regrets that he cannot go to college.
So I would like to share my understanding of "going to college and modern education" based on my own experience.
If the time scale is enlarged to 50 years, the final personal satisfaction with fate may not be bad, and not going to college is not necessarily a bad thing, or even a good thing.
I am a junior programmer and I also want to work hard to become a farmer. I have not yet found a suitable location to create a farm.
Living in the countryside and working as a farmer, there is nothing wrong with not going to college. Let me talk about my own personal experience!
##Student Apartment
I recently lived in a student apartment in central Europe, and of course most of the residents were university students. I was very excited at first, but soon I felt disappointed, or my expectations for the so-called developed and civilized society were too high.
Judging from the recent public health situation, some people with low quality live in our apartment. For example, the stool in the toilet is not flushed, leaving a pile of garbage in the kitchen waiting for others to clean it up, no garbage classification, and random discarding of garbage, etc. Condition.
Of course, this city has the oldest and most famous university in the world. The library I often go to is not much better. The toilets there are always dirty, with dirty water residues on the floor, littered paper towels, and a crowd always gathering at the door. The old smoker looks like a gangster, leaving a lot of cigarette butts on the ground.
Because this is an open society, the university has no walls and everyone can enter. Some of the garbage is thrown by students, and some is thrown by outsiders.
I don’t understand and feel disappointed about this. I traveled to Europe 10 years ago. At that time, I felt that Europe was cleaner and more civilized. It seems that Europe and North America are now going downhill. Some people say that this is the failure of the democratic system and that a tolerant society has caused more problems. Too much selfish and despicable behavior will lead to chaos in a society that is too free.
Successful cases all have strict compliance with rules, such as military management, devout beliefs, and reward and punishment systems.
If we delve into the reasons behind it, we find that university education only trains some professional and technical people, mostly for the job needs of economic and social development.
With the development of technology and artificial intelligence, the jobs of these people will inevitably be replaced by machines. In addition to these work skills, they will become useless if they do not master other key abilities.
What are the key capabilities of people?
It must be the innate ability of human nature, such as communication with others, empathy and empathy, efficient and good social collaboration abilities, etc. These are almost all missing in modern education.
The public health issues in apartments mentioned above are because many people do not have the basic ability to take care of themselves. They do not know how to classify garbage, do not know the difference between cleanliness and hygiene, and do not care about other people's feelings. It is like a person who has grown up to be over 25 years old. Year old giant baby.
Even if they learn the most advanced "gene, computer, nuclear energy" technologies, they are not qualified as basic social beings.
So, I am very lucky that I dropped out of school early, traveled and entered social work.
Now I am looking for job opportunities in rural communities. Even as a volunteer, I am happy to live in rural areas for a long time because it is closer to a small society with cleanliness, good order and customs.
Therefore, I envy those who still live in the countryside. The prosperous big cities all over the world almost all look the same, with the same bright and bright appearance, and the same noisy, chaotic, dirty, and dark hidden in many corners and under the night. and crime.
This strong contrast between light and dark on a social level often makes me feel surprised and uncomfortable!
